Are you over 18? Yea
Do you have any other characters in game?: Randolph Carter
Who invited you?: If during an open period, put NA.

Character Name: Sonic the Hedgehog
Canon: Sonic Prime (in terms of game canon this includes up to Sonic Adventures 3 and Shadow The Hedgehog)
Canon Point: S3 E1 Grim Tidings: Shadow has just yote Sonic out of the Grim and into the (relative) safety of the Shatterspace
Age: Extremely unclear but probably 16-18
History: Wiki page for his history!
Is this character an AU? What type?: Look man every Sonic game is a new canon timeline after fuckin Sonic Adventure 3 Nope!
Personality: Sonic's entire surface deal is that he's an edgy hedgy with a 90's 'tude, but in actual effect he's slightly more than that. Towards his friends (or strangers he's had a single neutral-to-positive interaction with), he's singularly loyal, quick to reassure, thank, and support in whatever measure that person responds to best - though given his nature as someone who never shuts up, it's usually some form of verbal reassurance. He's a steadfast supporter and believer in other people's plans, even if he doesn't know them yet - if someone he trusts asks him to jump, he's already in the air who cares how high he's off.

To his enemies (or people that just don't like him) he's incessantly annoying, constantly talking and making stupid references to wind them up even more - but of note is that he's neither cruel nor actively malicious. And when he does go too far, or sees someone else about to do so, he's extremely upset.

Overall though, he's generally a happy-go-lucky character who tends to see consequences as something to be dealt with after they happen, rather than prepared for in advance, and if he can't deal with them he sure can outrun them. Prime!Sonic in particular is one of the less blindly optimistic, more serious and grounded characters, thanks to the fact he directly caused his universe to get shattered into a multiverse and the multiverse version of Tails, his bestest bro, turned on him and stole the gemstones needed to fix his mistake. This doesn't make him less reckless or gung-ho, but it does make him more empathetic to other people's mistakes, and more willing to try teamwork as a compromise rather than take things on alone.

Powers and Abilities:
Sonic is, as is constantly established and frequently proven true, the Fastest Being Alive, and most of his powers tend to revolve around that fact. Basic abilities of his include:
  • Super speed! Obviously! He can't get as fast as a full-on sonic boom regularly without help and/or a really dedicated effort, but this like. His Whole Thang.
  • Spinning. You know it, you love it. Can be used to dash, jump and attack!
  • Peel out, aka charged dash, good for running upright at top speed!
  • Can run fast enough to make tornadoes for some reason!! He just can!

  • Putting aside his speed briefly, pretty much all of his baseline stats are remarkably high, especially his endurance and reflexes. He's actually quite a clumsy guy, but he's also fast enough to just course-correct mistakes moments before disaster truly strikes. In terms of otherwise mundane skills:
  • Moderately competent hand-to-hand combatant. He's actually one of the least trained fighters in the franchise generally, and mostly gets by on spinning and kicking wildly, but he can certainly handle himself perfectly fine.
  • Acrobatics. Part and parcel with heightened reflexes, but still true! Almost entirely used for showing off for single frames in mid-air, and lots of flips.
  • Relatedly, breakdancing.
  • Moderately tech-savvy. He won't be building shit himself, but he can certainly find an off-switch or use a computer generally.
  • Grinding. Like shoes on rails.
  • Driving! And hoverboards.

  • Specific to Prime!Sonic: Due to being at ground zero when he shattered a multiverse nexus anchor prism (just roll with it), he's absorbed some level of Prism Power. Basically this means he's a self-sustaining battery that can be harnessed for insanely high energy output. So long as he has his regulators on, this isn't really anything to worry about in terms of him getting hurt or burning out, but if he gets to speed he can break through realities and into the space between (obviously this will be nerfed for inside the Library). If, however, one was to remove his regulators, then his energy becomes wildly unstable, and he moves in rapid-fire bursts of speed that, if left unchecked, could potentially lead to him spontaneously exploding.

Inventory: His Hi-Speed Shoes, his gloves, his regulators (x4, two hands two feet), and his otherwise-butt-naked self.

Sample: TMD thread and a second!

When presented with a choice, is the character more likely to stick with tried and true methods? Or make something new up on the fly? oh make shit up every single time. Sonic is not and has never been a plans man, and literally says something to the effect of "have you met me? low-key isn't exactly my style".
What is more important to your character, preserving the past or forging a future? One hundo percent forging the future,
How does your character influence their own story? What about the stories of others? This song covers this question.

Are you alright with your character’s canon being used as a Recommended Reading?: Absolutely please watch it, or play any of the games prior to Sonic '06
